Windows Mobile Device Center Windows 8
See this thread: Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows 8. I can install drvupdate-amd64.exe successfully on Windows Server 2012, so there should be no problem on an OS with the same core. See if other program blocked the installation. I want to transfer a digital copy of a movie to my PC but it says that I need Windows Mobile Device Center. I can't find one that says it is for Windows 8 and the 64 bit one I downloaded for Windows 7.

Microsoft has just released Microsoft Device Center application for Windows 8 and is now available for all Microsoft keyboard and mouse users. Microsoft Device Center is a free application that lets you easily personalize and customize your Microsoft keyboard and mouse.
Microsoft Device Center combines Microsoft’s mouse software and keyboard software into one simple application. This brilliant application is all you need to modify your mouse and keyboard settings. One can view and modify basic and application specific settings for all connected devices from one place. For instance, you can customize keyboard shortcuts to perform command tasks such as opening Mail, or documents.
Upon installing and launching the program, it will scan and detect your mouse and keyboard. It will then allow you modify, remap, tweak mouse and keyboard buttons. For instance, if you have connected Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 keyboard, Device Center offers options to modify documents, pictures, web/home, mail, play/pause, previous track, next track, undo, redo, help, media, open, close and many other hotkeys.
You can also assign application specific settings. That is, you can assign hotkeys to perform different commands in different programs. For example, you can assign the popular Ctrl + C shortcut to run a macro in game, play or pause when in Windows Media Player, and open a new tab in Internet Explorer browser.
